Hello!

Today, I’m introducing a hidden gem in Namwon, Jeollabuk-do! A restaurant that operates for only four hours a day! Located in Juchon-myeon, Namwon-si, "Bonga Chinese Restaurant" is a place my parents absolutely love.
This is NOT an advertisement or a sponsored post.
(But if the owner sees this, a complimentary Tangsuyuk would be greatly appreciated... 😉)

📍 Location
This restaurant is situated in Juchon-myeon, which is a bit farther from downtown Namwon. Since it’s in a more rural area, you’ll need a car to get there.
Despite its remote location, the place is always packed with customers.
Why? Because they don’t serve dinner! If you want to eat here, you have to get there before sunset.
🕒 Only Open for 4 Hours a Day?!
Yes, you read that right! This Chinese restaurant is only open for four hours a day. And guess what? They’re closed on Mondays! (I envy the owner’s work-life balance...)

🏡 Ambience
The restaurant is housed in a large, home-style building, surrounded by mountains, rice fields, and farmland—giving it a truly warm, countryside feel.
Right next to it, there’s also a café where we sometimes relax and chat with our parents after a meal. But honestly, most of the time, we’re so full that we can’t even handle a drink afterward.

🍽️ Bonga Tangsuyuk (Large)
Before I show you the interior, just look at this Tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork)!

We usually order one dish per person and get a large Tangsuyuk to share among four people. But if you don’t have big appetites, even the medium size would be more than enough for four people.
No matter how full we are, we always finish the Tangsuyuk. It’s that good.
One thing to note: their Tangsuyuk is served with a special soy sauce-based sauce already poured over it. So if you’re a “dip-it” person rather than a “pour-it” person, you might not like this style. But here’s a tip—grab the crispy pieces from the top as soon as it arrives!
Sometimes, I skip the main dishes and just eat Tangsuyuk because it’s that delicious. Oh, and they also have fruit-based Tangsuyuk, which is amazing too (sadly, I don’t have a picture).

📖 Simple Menu
The menu is very straightforward. My family usually sticks to:
- Jjajangmyeon (Black bean noodles)
- Jjamppong (Spicy seafood noodle soup)
- Jjambbong (Stir-fried noodles with black bean sauce)
- Bokkeumbap (Fried rice)
Upsize (곱빼기) is available for an extra 2,000 KRW.
I always forget to take food pictures because we’re starving by the time the food arrives, so we just devour it immediately.

🥢 Extra Side Dishes & Seating
- Self-service side dishes: We usually grab a bunch of danmuji (pickled radish) at once and don’t go back for more—because honestly, we’re too busy eating.
- Spacious seating: There are plenty of tables, so this place is great for large groups.
- Open kitchen: You can see the kitchen, and it’s spotless!
🍜 The Ultimate Local Hidden Gem
This restaurant screams local charm. Even though we arrived close to closing time, there were still lots of customers enjoying their meals.
Some people were even drinking, keeping the atmosphere lively until late.
The husband-and-wife owners are incredibly friendly. The husband runs the kitchen, while the wife takes care of the dining area, and their warm hospitality makes you want to become a regular customer.

Dear Owners,
I hope you make lots of money and continue serving this amazing Tangsuyuk for many years to come! 🙌💛
Would you like me to refine the translation further or adjust the tone to be more formal or casual? 😊
